iPhone 7 – Forgotten Passcode Recovery
June 13, 2025Description
To recover this iPhone 7, which was fully disabled due to a forgotten passcode, we performed a deep software reset known as a DFU (Device Firmware Update) restore. This process allows us to completely erase the device and reinstall the latest version of iOS, bypassing the disabled lock screen. The iPhone was connected to our repair system and carefully put into DFU mode, a special state that enables full firmware restoration. Once detected, we initiated a clean install of the operating system through iTunes. After the firmware was downloaded and applied, the device rebooted into the setup screen, fully functional and free of the previous lockout. This method is ideal for situations where the passcode has been forgotten or the device is disabled, offering a fresh start without the need for physical repair. The iPhone is now ready to be set up with a new user or restored from a backup, depending on the owner's needs.
